adidas REMIX has teamed up with New York City-based jeweler, Gabriel Urist, to construct an unique Team Signature Pro Model for the upcoming NBA All-Star Weekend taking place in the city of New Orleans.
By the utilization of neutral palettes with gold accents, wood-grain like sole trim, and an Asian influenced print on satin ankle collar. Gabriel Urist’s associate, Rahn Johnson stated “We wanted to speak to the basketball consumer who appreciates aesthetics and pays attention to detail. Our goal was to create a luxury performance shoe without being too excessive. The concept features elements that range from the interior of a Bentley Continental to a 20th century Asian inspired print.” In addition, Urist incorporated embroidered letters on “GU” near the rear and a pair of gold lace clips of “love” and “war” to each shoe, hence Urist’s perception of the game. All of these on top of a perforated leather with mesh insets for breathability and gum-sole for grip on the court.
